WHAT ARE YOU STUDYING AND/OR WHAT ARE YOUR PROFESSIONAL AMBITIONS?
I hold a degree in environmental sciences from McGill University and I am currently completing my master’s degree in geography at York University. Through my research and writing, I bring together critical disability studies and urban geography to explore how our built environment shapes experiences of disability. Outside of school, I have communications experience in the nonprofit sector, and I have had the opportunity to compete at two Paralympic Games in swimming.
WHAT ARE YOUR PASSIONS, INTERESTS, AND HOBBIES?
I am passionate about disability advocacy and promoting accessibility through policy. In my time off, I love going hiking, open water swimming, and sewing my own clothing designs!
CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH BRAIN-BASED DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES?
Growing up with cerebral palsy, I struggled to find community and information about my disability. Due to my personal experience, I am passionate about raising awareness and fostering accessible environments, so more children have access to a positive disability identity.
